Fred Epstein....

As a member of State Street’s asset-based lending area he gained expertise in the telecommunications, cable, and leasing industries.

Prior to joining the asset-based lending Division, Fred worked in State Street’s loan review area.  During this period of increasing responsibilities he provided commercial banking with oversight and risk advice in the markets and industries cited above.  In these capacities Fred developed reports and procedures providing senior management a better understanding of the risks engendered in the Bank’s commercial loan portfolios.

Recruited from the loan review area Fred served, for over 20 years, as a State Street relationship manager in the asset-based, international trade financing, and syndication groups.  In these roles he structured and administered credit facilities for corporate and institutional borrowers.  He was responsible for the delivery of all bank products to his customers and the management of risks inherent in those products.  After State Street sold its commercial banking business to Citizens Bank, Fred remained with the company and played a significant role in the sale of State Street’s international trade banking portfolio to HSBC.

With Bank of America Fred was a member of the Northeast Banking group.  There, he had approval responsibilities for C&I and CRE loans made in the Bank’s northeast region.

His deep experience in the identification, underwriting, and management of commercial banking risks, coupled with the relationships he established with companies he banked, led Fred to a consulting role.  In this new capacity Fred has written proposals that describe business operations and has assisted lenders in their understanding of potential loans and their underwriting of loans.

Fred resides in Cambridge, MA.
